The OMEGA 7 Project

Investigation into Development of Framework for Identification and Appraisal of Infrastructure Interdependencies with Application to Critical UK Infrastructure.

This study was undertaken by teams drawn from UCL (the OMEGA Centre and the Bartlett School of Construction and Project Management – CPM) and The Systems Centre of the University of Bristol.The OMEGA Centre’s contribution was funded by a grant provided by UCL Enterprise and drew extensively from the lessons and findings derived from OMEGA 1, OMEGA 2 and OMEGA 3 Projects. The Final Report – co-produced with CPM and the University of Bristol partners detailed for the HM Treasury opportunities to identify and enhance value-for-money, efficiency, sustainability and resilience dimensions of critical infrastructure investments, to encourage a cycle of further investment and economic growth through the effective planning and management of infrastructure interdependencies.  The findings of this research informed the relevant sections of the HM Treasury’s Green Book entitled Appraisal and Evaluation in Central Government (HM Treasury, 2014).
