The OMEGA 11 Project

Preparation Study of OMEGA Handbook on Decision-Making for the Planning and Appraisal of Mega Transport Projects

Following the work of the OMEGA 1 and OMEGA 2 Projects, the OMEGA Centre was awarded a further VREF Grant with match-funding provided by the Bartlett School of Planning and UCL Enterprises  – to prepare a handbook that disseminates the generic lessons and insights derived from the OMEGA Centre’s OMEGA 2 Project on Decision-making in the Planning, Appraisal and Delivery of Mega Transport Projects.  This handbook looks to be presented in a manner that can be of practical and operational value to practitioners working in the field, especially policy makers, project appraisers and project managers of mega infrastructure investments.  It is to be produced initially in hard copy form and later to be further developed as an on-line handbook (subject to further funding) with the latter facilitating social media responses/feedback and dialogues concerning the lessons and recommended guidelines. This project is to lead to a further book publication as part of the Earthscan-Routledge OMEGA series of books and is scheduled for publication in 2020.
