In May 2008, Professor Dimitriou and Phil Wright attended the Conference on Future Urban Transport held in Berkeley, California, sponsored jointly by the Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) and the CoE at the University of California at Berkeley. Held between 19th and 21st May 2008, this conference was attended by all key VREF personnel and representatives from all of the VREF CoE world-wide. Apart from providing the opportunity for Phil Wright and Prof. Dimitriou to present a progress report on the research work of the OMEGA Centre and its Partners, it also offered important opportunities for participants to share experiences and progress, and discuss the future direction of VREF and explore future areas of possible CoE collaboration.
