Future Urban Transport
The Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) is a generic term for four independent foundations. For the millennium the Board of VREF has initiated a new research programme to be funded - Future Urban Transport (FUT). The foundations commonly support the programme by providing funds for research and educational projects. (Source: VREF.se)
The Omega Centre & VREF
In January 2006 the Bartlett School of Planning at University College London was awarded a 5-year grant by the Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) to set up a 'global centre of excellence' in 'future urban transport'. This Centre is one of six such Centres worldwide, and is at present the only one of its kind in Europe.
